Find news by topic and get a briefing

Before you start

• Open @NewsHubFeedBot or sign in to your web account.
• Add sources first if you want to search your subscriptions.

Steps

1. In Telegram, send /news, choose Find news, or type your question directly. On the website, use the Assistant bar at the top of any account section.
2. Start with an explicit request: “Find news about the economy from the past week” or “Collect information about peace negotiations in Ukraine”.
3. Unless you have changed the defaults, searches cover your subscriptions from the past 7 days. A broad topic gives an overview you can refine.
4. Include dates in the question: “Find news about interest rates from yesterday” or “Find energy news from September 10 to September 20, 2026”. Each request can span up to 31 days.
5. To expand coverage, ask: “Find electric vehicle news across the entire accessible archive from the past week”. The archive contains saved NewsHub materials you are allowed to access. It is not an internet search.
6. The Telegram /news menu saves a default period of 1, 7, or 31 days and a Subscriptions or Entire archive scope. You can override the dates and scope in an individual question.
7. For context from a publication, choose Ask about this news in the web feed, then type your question. In Telegram, reply to a publication with your question; this also works with a forwarded message.
8. Wait for the acknowledgement and then the answer. A search may take a couple of minutes. Results appear in the web conversation or the Telegram chat where you asked.
9. Read the briefing and follow its source links. If the answer is marked partial, choose Resume search to continue from the saved position.
10. Refine the same conversation: “Only Russia” or “More details about the central bank decision”. The assistant uses the preceding search as context.
11. After a complete answer, ask what has changed since your previous request on this topic. This requires a complete earlier answer in the same conversation, no more than 31 days ago.
12. If there is little material, narrow the topic or explicitly expand the dates and sources. In Telegram, use /news → Last answer to reopen your saved result.

Important limitations

• Telegram and web share a daily search limit: Free 3, Lite 15, Pro 100. Limits reset at 00:00 UTC. A new search or refinement uses the quota; resuming the same search does not create a new request.
• Feed filters and source access rules still apply. A news question does not disable restrictions or change your subscriptions.
• Internet search and Perplexity are not connected yet. Coverage depends on news already collected by NewsHub; the semantic index is still being populated.
• Search history is kept for 90 days. Telegram and web have separate conversations, with search settings and quota shared by the same account.
• Since my previous request needs a complete previous answer with the same scope and filters. Otherwise, choose a regular date range.

If it did not work

• If the bot offers to save a permanent AI filter, cancel and use an explicit one-time request: “Find news about … from the past week”.
• If nothing matches, check subscriptions and filters, try another date range or the accessible archive.
• If the web Assistant bar is missing, refresh the page; on a desktop you can use Ctrl+F5.
